Euflexxa Injections
Interventional Pain Management with Euflexxa ®
Hyaluronic acid (HA), is a substance found in normal synovial joint fluid. It helps lubricate the joint. When you have osteoarthritis, the HA in your joints becomes lower in weight and therefore less effective.
Euflexxa is a Hyaluronic acid that is injected directly into your joints. Euflexxa can be used in the knee, hip, ankle and foot, as well as the shoulder, elbow and wrist. It replenishes HA helping with the lubrication and shock absorption you need within joints.
The treatment process:
-
A series of three injections administered 1-2 weeks apart.
-
Conducted under sterile CT guidance by our experienced doctors.
-
The procedure typically takes 10-15 minutes
(Patients can drive afterward).
-
The maximum effect is observed 8 weeks after the initial injection.
-
In general, one course of 3 injections has been shown to provide up to 6 months of pain relief. Treatment can be performed twice a year.
